It is also being reported that due to shortage of beer, the prices of liquor is likely to increase and will affect the customers.

Customers have expressed concern over the rising liquor prices in the city and said they would be worst affected by the price rise.

It is believed that the demand for liquor in pubs and breweries has increased in the recent days after the heatwave, which has resulted in a shortage of liquor at these commercial establishments.

Because of the escalating demand and continuous increase in sales of the beer, the required supply of liquor is not being met in the city and the rising demand and increase in sales has resulted in this situation.

However, to meet this shortage and to bring the situation under control, arrangements are being made in the city to stop weekend offers at beer shops in Bengaluru.

Various owners of the breweries who generally offer weekend offers such as ‘buy 2 get 1 free’ expressed concern and said such offers will be stopped in Bengaluru to address the crisis.

Some of the owners said due to a huge demand for the beer during weekends, the pub owners are not able to store liquors.

Speaking to New Indian Express, a representative from a major brewery in Marathahalli said the supply and consumption this year have gone beyond their expectations, something that they were not prepared for.

The operational head of Gilly’s Restobar said that the beer sales have surged by 40% with nearly all customers choosing multiple beer orders over any other beverage. He added that managing the sales has become challenging due to delays in orders from breweries.
