Oregon State quarterback Travis Throckmorton is leaving the Beavers as the third-year sophomore put his name in the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-1 Throckmorton came out of spring practice looking to be no better than the fifth on the OSU depth chart at quarterback.
Throckmorton didn’t play during his two full seasons with the Beavers. With Throckmorton gone, Oregon State has four quarterbacks -- Gevani McCoy, Gebarri Johnson, Ben Gulbranson, Dom Montiel -- on its roster, plus incoming freshman Kallen Gutridge.
Throckmorton is the fifth Beaver to head to the football transfer portal since the spring window opened April 16. Others are running backs Damien Martinez and Isaiah Newell, linebacker Michael Erhart and tight end Carter Neuman.
